What is HYPNOTHERAPY?Understanding you are born with the greatest computer anyone could ever imagine, hypnotherapy helps you access the subconscious mind much like a computer. It is programmed by the thoughts of our conscious mind. Hypnosis creates a clear path to the subconscious, promoting a state of heightened awareness and suggestibility. During hypnosis one is guided into a relaxed state of awareness, quieting the conscious mind chatter and given positive suggestions to help the client achieve their desired goal. Contrary to popular belief, the client is fully aware of what is being communicated at all times during a session and will only accept those suggestions they agree to. Having agreed to these suggestions the subconscious creates the behavior changes or body changes in order to achieve what has been suggested. The subconscious is the key to making any significant changes in behavior or performance. During hypnosis the subconscious is 90% more alert. Being in a hypnotic state is a very common feeling for us and one we experience often. Have you ever found yourself staring off in the distance in a kind of day-dreamy state or perhaps you have walked in front of the TV and all of a sudden you are captivated by a program, mesmerized so to speak. Maybe you have been on vacation lying comfortably on a beach. There may be a hundred people on the beach and you find yourself so relaxed and comfortable you are unaware of all those people. Now if someone were all of a sudden crying for help in the water you would immediately be alert to assist in whatever way necessary. These examples are exactly what one experience during hypnosis. Hypnosis was recognized by the American Medical Association in 1955 as a very safe and effective process and recommended to its members. It is used for performance anxiety, fears and phobias, pain control, weight management, smoking cessation, childbirth, visualization, imagery for wellness, and pre-surgery just to name a few of it's many applications. Hypnotherapy can change your life and can be used in all areas of human experience. Here is a list of services offered through hypnosis,
A study showing the efficacy of hypnotherapy as compared to psychoanalysis and behavior therapy revealed after 600 sessions of psychoanalysis, 38 percent of the patients reported recovery from their conditions; those receiving behavior therapy improved in 72 percent of all cases after 22 sessions; while hypnotherapy produced a 93% success rate after only 6 sessions. |
